The first participants received a 3D printed lower leg prosthesis. In the village of Masanga there are already seven people who are in need of a lower leg prosthesis, this shows the great demand for prostheses in Sierra Leone!

Together with the help of the local physiotherapists Troy and Idrissah, the first steps have been made! Abu Bakar has become a specialist in the manufacturing of custom-made hand carved wooden prosthetic feet. And the tailor of the hospital is very good in making the bandage. Together we form a close knit team.

Short and long-term follow-up will be done in the coming months to test the durability of the prostheses.
