3D Sierra Leone (Foundation 3D Printing in developing countries) is running at full speed! Together with our research group of Technical Medicine, Industrial design, Mechanical engineering, and Biomedical engineering students from the University of Twente, TU Delft, and Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen, we are conducting research at the 3D Lab Radboudumc to improve the leg and arm prostheses for people in low and middle-income countries. We are also developing a design program to simplify and automate the digital design process. Our intention is to create a workflow that can be performed independently by the local population. We are looking forward traveling to Sierra Leone again to continue our research there.
