Recently, we were witnessing the life-changing impact of a prosthetic on one of our patients. After being fitted with a prosthetic leg, he experienced a newfound sense of independence and mobility, which drastically improved his quality of life.

None of this project would have been possible without the expertise of Marco Papenburg, who provided last year’s invaluable training to me and the Dutch research team from the 3D Lab Radboudumc. Together with his guidance, sallieu jalloh, Saidu, and, Osman from Masanga Hospital Sierra Leone learned the skills to properly fit and adjust prosthetics, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality care possible.

Furthermore, we were fortunate to have Bernhard Rodenburg from Radboudumc, document the project and capture the incredible transformations of our patients. His beautiful photos and videos help us raise awareness about the importance of prosthetics and their impact on people’s lives.
